UDS 2014: New HIV Measure

Uniformed Data System (UDS) 2014
New HIV Measure

Doctor imageThe UDS report tells us that in 2014, health centers provided care to 149,747 patients with a primary diagnosis of HIV and conducted 1.2 million HIV screenings. Also in 2014, health centers reported on a new measure that indicated 77.3% of newly diagnosed HIV patients were linked into HIV care within 90 days of the initial HIV diagnosis.

Although the time between diagnosis and linkage into care of the UDS measure is much more than the national goal put forth in the NHAS, where HIV+ patients are expected to be linked into care in 30 days or less, this measure will help health centers work closer towards the goals of NHAS. We have heard from many health centers that collecting and reporting data for this measure is challenging. We are here to support you and your member health centers and would like to know what you are hearing from your members about the UDS measure? Share with us.
