This courses is introduction to effective STD/HIV prevention strategies and highlights current trends in the field. It provides and overview of the key components of public health strategies and interventions, and presents a brief theoretical framework. Some of the topics presented include the use of epidemiological data, the history and future of HIV prevention, and the composition of intervention activities. It blends an interactive learning environment with a field practicum.This course is appropriate for HIV prevention practitioners, planners, and evaluators working in community-based organizations, universities, or public health departments.
